Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE EXPECTED SHIPMENT TIME AFTER PURCHASING MY HELMET?

Due to high demand, please be advised that your shipment may be delayed. To set realistic expectations, please reference the shipping updates below. Expedited shipping (2 weeks for custom-built helmets) is available with a $300 fee per helmet. No more than 3 helmets per order. Orders typically ship within 30 days of order placement on custom-built helmets. In-stock orders ship within 3 days of order placement.

ARE PARACLETE HELMETS APPROVED FOR USE WITH U.S. DOI/USFS?

Paraclete is currently the only manufacture that has undergone the approval process to the new civilian aviation standard with versions of our helmets across all sizes. For more information visit the helmet pages of the versions Aspida-D and Aegis-D.

WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY DOES MY HELMET COME WITH?

To start a claim or see details of Paraclete’s warranty policy go here. If you have questions regarding the warranty coverage on your helmet, call us at 931.274.7947, e-mail us at Sales@ParacleteLifeSupport.com or refer to your helmet manual.

HOW CAN I OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MY HELMET?

Parts can be purchased from the Shop on this site. You can also contact your local representative.

WHAT ARE YOUR HELMET PRICES?

Due to our global shipment capabilities, world-wide partners, and differences in market requirements, we recommend contacting a local representative or request a quote to receive aviation helmet pricing.

CAN I USE MY PARACLETE AVIATION HELMET FOR OTHER FLYING ACTIVITIES BESIDES HELICOPTERS?

Each Paraclete helmet is designed for helicopter use. The standards required for helicopters are more stringent than fixed-wing and aerial sports helmets. They can be used for other activities such as gyrocopters, powered gliders, kit aerial crafts, and experimental aircraft. They are not certified for use as sports helmets such as hang gliders.

CAN I PAINT MY HELMET?

Paraclete does apply paint and clear coats to your helmets. It is recommended that after purchase painting be done by a professional. The helmet can be damaged so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced, or the finish is ruined if additional paint is done inappropriately.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD A HELMET BE REPLACED?

Paraclete has a general recommendation of replacing your helmet every ten (10) years. The life of the helmet can be extended indefinitely if properly maintained and damaged components such as a shell are replaced. If you are unsure of the condition of your helmet, or whether it should be replaced, call us at 931.274.7947 or e-mail us at Sales@ParacleteLifeSupport.com for information on an inspection.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY HELMET BECOMES DAMAGED?

Helmets do not last forever without regular care. If the helmet is visibly damaged (cracked outer shell, crushed, or cracked foam liner or any other damage) DO NOT USE IT. The helmet’s protective capacity is depleted when impacted, and the damage to a helmet is not always visible. If you have any questions about your helmet call 931.274.7947 or e-mail us at Sales@ParacleteLifeSupport.com

HOW DO I STORE MY HELMET?

After each use, allow the helmet to air dry and then store it in a cool, dry place where it will not get damaged such as a helmet bag or case.
See the manual for information on the care of the helmet.

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY HELMET?

See the manual for information on how to care for the helmet and the specific components.
Note that some cleaners or solvents can harm the helmet.

CAN I GET A CLEAR INNER LENS AND A TINTED OUTER LENS ON MY HELMET?

At this time Paraclete introduced Near Arc® Technology into our visor lenses. Because of the large investment by us to provide distortion-free and optical clear lenses to the aviation industry, we currently only offer tinted inner, clear outer, and high contrast (yellow/amber) outer lenses.
